What kind of key did you use to secure your Network, when you configure your Airport Extreme ( WEP or WAP)?

With Brothers Printer you can have problems to connect to your network if you had choose a WAP key.

To change the Key, you have to go back the Security parameters of your Airport via Airport Utility, and change your WAP key to a WEP key.

To do so, you'll have to hold the "option key" while clicking the key's pull down menu, because it's the only way to select the option WEP key wich doe'snt appear by default.

Then on your Brohter printer, you press the Menu button, you chose the Network Menu ( 5 ), then wireless --> assitant configuration-->your network, and when prompt, your WEP key

What is your Brother's model ?

I just checked the information about your MFC-255cw and it says: Your brother machine supports the use of the first WEP KEY only.

It is also written that: "If you have previously configured the wireless settings of the machine, you must reset the network (LAN) settings before you can configure the wireless settings again.

On your machine,

Press Menu, the press 5 to choose 5.Network

Press 0 to chose 0.Network Reset

Press 1 twice to choose to chose Reset and Yes

(Here is a link for a PDF Guide to setup your Printer. Go to page 29-30 the see the procedure to connect to your network, in case you're not familiar with the procedure)
