webcam settings

Does anyone know if the settings can be changed for the webcam on the MacBook Pro 17 inch? The camera shows a reverse image and I want to change the setting so it displays the opposite like you can on a Logitech HD webcam but I can't seem to find the webcam settings anywhere. Thanks for any help. I'm new at using a Mac and still trying to figure this out. Great laptop though!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4), 17 inch

Not positive here on Apple's webcam but you may want to investigate in the Apple App Store a software developement product called "Wecam Settings". I'm having stunning results with my Logitech C-910 webcam

Note please, I do not recondment using any of Logitech webcam settings ..only to open the camera I want to cover my rear on that one...Just a couple of questions to the employee at an Apple store should yield a good possible and qualified reply as to see if Apples webcam with Webcam settings are worth your while..

That should get you started anyway and most important, know that somebody out there sympathizes with you...ie me....just go to the dock click on the App Store icon, type in "Webcam Settings" in the Top Right hand corner where the magnifying glass is located (white search area) and you are there...Let me check here ...cost factor for download ...just says installed on my iMac....if there is a cost it will be very low. The features are many and varied yep outstanding features available BUT still can't find any defined written criteria from Apple. I'm sorry I tried ...Sure hope this is able to work on your needs. I'm positive that if the Apples employee doesn't know just ask for a manager and if he doesn't know Wow Apple will get to work on ypur question ands provide a timely responce. Kudos for customer service, Apple. You got a good question there Mr. Dunonce60 but not a DEAD CHICHEN YET. Please let me know your findings.... I'l help you research.

I've done a bit more for you Mr. Dunonce60. Are you aware that you may adjust you photos in IPhoto producing high quality images...this will help you some what ...I will contact the Developer of "Webcam Settings." and ask him to directly provide actual proven criteria to help in your concerns. Also please note Photobooth is compatable with Apples Webcams unless they alterd this recently ...but why should they. At least this may help you meet your needs in employment, or personal endeavors until the developer can be reached..... bear with me, I'll try my best for you to suceed, ........With respect to your needs...

Thanks for all your research into this but you would have thought by now that Apple would have had a fix for this??? It just surprises me that with all their knowledge that someone there would have noticed that there is no settings option for the webcam on the MacBook Pro...strange! The consumer paid for it but the company won't allow the user to have any control over it...hmmmm, what's wrong with this picture? Don't give your research, maybe you will find the answer! Thanks again!

Understood. I did E-mail Liang-Hsin Chen the Product Developer for the "Webcam Settings" Applications. He's a super man who has empathy for your concern. I know he works around the clock and developing a newer version of his application -so- if by chance you are unable to contact each other in timely manner I'll just buy you the program to utilize. ( I wonder if there is a policy against that...who knows, I'll do it anywayReally..that's how much I enjoyed his webcam settings. I got beautiful pics from my Logitech and that's almost unheard of ...Keep me posted and we can work somdething out for you.

On a personal note, the bigger picture may be: budget, new product developement, annual goal obtainment, Someone was ask to take an extended vacation permanently LOL. or they just thought someone else would pick up the slack. Happens every day in Corporate business No matter what the excuse, I ditto your thoughts, When a company takes that road of neglecting ramifications then the Market may be right to be "Bear" for that company. Oh poo. LOL. That's not a happy thought at all. The end result is one is left out of the loop with the company reorganizing. Profits usually drop 20% or more.

Let's not dwell there but work to get you going. I'll cc this to Chen. ,,,,I've changed my mind just now, I'll buy the program for you. Now that'll solve everything I'll ask Apple to see how to do that. Cross your fingers, Principal is a value to side with UH. On by the way I'm retiring from Logitech and Apple Community forums as soon as you are on your way. PS notice you only had one point so I clicked the thumbs up for you LOL...
