How do I get the contacts app to display the contact I looked up in Finder on the iPad 2?

I may have started the contacts app in iPad 2 and opened it to a particular contact. Whenever I go to finder, type in a contact's name, and tap on it, the contacts app opens but does not open the contact I tapped in finder. This Finder functionality works perfectly fine on my iPod.
