.Mac mail downloads go where?

When I am at my work computer (a PC Windows computer) and I download something from my mail account from .Mac, I cannot figure out where the document is put. Or I'm thinking it's not downloading at all because there is an odd beep, and when I use "Search Companion" to look for it, it cannot find it. Anyone else have this problem? Where do downloads usually go for Windows based computers?

Thanks for any knowledge.

I'm getting the email from the .Mac website using Internet Explorer. In the email itself, I click on the attachment at the top of the window just below the subject line, the window changes to another page with the circular spinning thing that says 'downloading', then I get beep and the browser screen goes completely white. When I close the browser screen the doc isn't in the desktop or any folder on the desktop. I'm trying to download an Excel doc. Thanks for the quick reply.
