i take it the way you are currently setup is that your mouse has only one click yes? if thats the case and you wanted a right like PC mouse then click on settings > mouse > secondary click. should sort your problem out for you 🙂
ok so click on 'system preferences', in the new window under the hardware heading there will be a 'mouse' icon with the word mouse underneath it, yes? once youv clicked that it will bring up all the settings for your mouse, just highlight and click on the box next to 'secondary click' and it will enable right clicking for your mouse 🙂
Thanks for your reply Beanie - That should logically work, but I only have Tiger and looks like the mouse preferences dont offer a 'secondary click' box. (Sorry if I am in a 'Lion Only' forum or something). Perhaps there was some mouse software I was supposed to install when I bought it? -pumpkin (:
ah right, well yeah you sort of are in the lion forums :-/ um i dont really have much experience with the legacy OSX software, as i started on leopard myself but i do know that the old software didnt support a secondry click option as apple designed for the one click mouse.
i think your only option would be to use hold 'ctrl' button while clicking for the right click as i dont know of a secondry click option which is software based and this is probably your easiest option, albeit a little more convoluted that you had hoped.
Copy and paste are two seperate commands. You can't use a right click for both.
Hi- I dont quite understand. I am a new user. I first went into system preferences and couldnt find settings/mouse/secondaryclick. How do I access this? Thanks
OOOps! Thought I might be in the Lion's cage -- Thanks for your time and I'll try the control option. -p
