macbook pro won't charge

i noticed my battery was running low. so i put the charger thing on and nothing happened i thought the problem was in the outlet so i tried using a different one. even tried changing the adapters from the short cable to the long cable. so heres what happens i plug my macbook up and no light comes on or anything alomst like i doesnt realize its pluged up. plz help im running on my last 9% i need my laptop for tomarro sending it to apple will take too long. plz

Try a different charger


Battery maybe dead.

i called apple and they didnt help me. told me to pay 49$ for one call to technical suport. so i called best buy talked to them for free and they helped me. and figurd out it was simply a bad charger. dont get it tho only had this laptop for 5 months and already a bad charger. and it was 80$. love apple just not their prices

I just had the same issue, with a Macbook Pro that is only a few months old. I was told to do the SMC reset. Initially, before calling them, I bought a new charger. That didn't fix the issue.


I would return the new charger if I were you and try the SMC reset. If that doesn't work, I would have apple send you a new charger. The charger is covered for a year.

I've also got a 2012 MacBook Pro build and I'm into my second charger and once again the same issue has happened. The machine appears to be getting an external charge as the screen in lit as it would if mains power was fixed but the charge indictor says "not charging". Apple clearly has got an issue hear with the battery. I'm going to get a refund and buy something else. Not good enough!
