I have tried t o merge iPhoto/Aperture libraries but was unsuccessful.

I receive the following error:

The library could not be imported because there is not enough free space on your current Aperture Library volume.

2866.32 GB is needed, but only 514.82 GB is available.

This is bizarre since the iPhoto library is 42.61GB. The Aperture 298.73 GB. Why would it take 2866.32 on the destination? The Aperture library is stored on a secondary volume and the iPhoto library on the main volume.

Ideas?

Mac Pro 8x2.8, Mac OS X (10.6.1), iMac C2D 2.0 / MBP CD2.16

It is posssible the libraries might be corrupt. Try rebuilding them to see if that has any effect.

I was able to merge by doing the opposite of the above. 1- Switched Aperture to iPhoto libary, 2- Importing Aperture Library, 3- Move iPhoto/Aperture library to Aperture volume drive. Its a bit clumsy but it worked, whereas the inverse did not.
