Is it safe to allow apps to access my UDID?

AN app has asked to access my UDID ...it's a data base transfer via wifi app....and I am wondering if this is usual or dangerous. The app is from the Apple App store.

The need for the UDID may be related to connection security (connection to the data source). Can't find any reviews on the app store or CNET, but it appears to be a new product.

Probably nothing to worry about. As far as I know it is possible to access the UDID without asking permission,so I woildn't they were trying to pull anything illicite. I also suspect Apple would have uncovered that in the vetting process (since it asks upon install, pretty hard to cover up). if that makes you feel any better.
