Can you download subscribed (paid) podcast on the new podcast app

I have paid to receive podcast from LBC a London Talk Radio Station - am I able to set auto downloads for the paid subscription or is it only free podcast which can be downloaded automatically with the new app.

The only solution I have found is to uninstall the Podcast app, remove the paid feed from the sync list in iTunes, sync the phone/iPad/iPod and then re-adding the paid feed in iTunes and syncing again seems to bring it back to the Music app.

The podcast app looks great but clearly is not ready for prime time if it can't handle paid feeds that need authentication.

I have the same problem and listen to Randi Rhodes every day. I wonder if this is something on Apple's side or Randi's. I am a aos paid subscriber to the Randi Rhodes show. The new app is great, but I can't download new episodes from the app as Randi's podcasts are paid for and downloaded only through iTunes itself. I'm inquiring whether there is a solution to this. Currently in the Podcast app, my Randi Rhodes subscription is "not authorized" and there is no way to log in to download new episodes "on the go." Is this an iTunes/Apple side problem that may addressed in an update, or is there something Randi's IT fix and/or integrate? I still can only currently download the new shows through iTunes - once iOS6 goes into effect, I've read podcasts in the iTunes iOS app will no longer show up -- so how do I get Randi's shows at that point if there is no way to log in and download them?

Same with my paid subscription to the Rush Limbaugh program. 😉

I subscribe to Rush and Mark Levin. Each have an app that allows you to get access to the podcasts (Levin's is free, but you have to be a subscriber to get Rush's). Maybe there is an app for Randi's show that allows you to do the same?

I'm getting the same "unable to authorize" message on my iPod touch for the Bob and Tom show paid podcast. I'm able to download and sync it via iTunes, however. It appears that if I was on a WiFi hot spot and tried to download more episodes directly to the iPod, there would be no way to do it. There are other Podcast app problems, too. The app stinks, and podcasts worked flawlessly via the Music App.

Have to agree with George. I cannot get paid podcasts to sync from my Mac on the iPhone under Music. iPhone 3GS iOS6 and MBPro. The option for podcasts under music-more button just is not there anymore. It appears that you must use the new podcast app. You would think Apple would have seen this coming. They should have made these new apps (maps and podcasts), optional use until the bugs were squared away. This is why I bailed on Microsoft. Has Apple reached it's zenith, and are they now on the downslide?

I've tried this, I have two paid podcasts. One synced through my Mac but the other (even while connected with a cable) will not sync. I have 5 Apple devices and I'm furious about this one. This was a horrible choice on Apple's part. Both podcasts say they are unable to authorize, like I stated, one synced through wi-fi and the other will not go onto my iPhone. I'm starting to think that Apple is getting very sloppy with their apps.

I found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaI9GwPKXkE that shows how to remove the podcast app and put podcasts back into the music app. I did it and it worked, BUT...I had to reboot my iPod touch as the final step (not mentioned in the video). I manually sync my paid podcasts via iTunes, so no idea how well it works with wireless sync etc. I no longer get the "Unable to Authorize" message, and the music app works much better than the podcast app.

Can you download subscribed (paid) podcast on the new podcast app
