Jun 26, 2012 2:17 PM in response to kurailunaby varjak paw,What video output does your MacBook Pro have? Is it a mini-DVI, or mini-DisplayPort? If it's a mini-DVI, then as Roger said, DVI does not support audio and you'll need to run a separate cable. If your MPB has a mini-DisplayPort output, then it will depend on your model. See:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4241
If you have an appropriate model and it's not passing audio, you may have a defective adapter or need to consult the settings for that HDMI input on your TV.
Regards.
