Q: Erase Macintosh HD after installing a ssd hd

Hi to all! I've replaced the hard drive with a ssd hd and intalled Lion on it. Now I've 128GB hd called "ssd" and 500GB hd called "Macintosh HD" (the old one). I've would like to erase Macintosh HD but is not possible. If I try I've an alert with "Is not possible to unmount the drive".

Any ideas?

what is your start up drive?

are you using your old drive in a external enclosure?

Thanks for your reply. My start up drive with Lion is new ssd hd and i've not moved the original hd. It still contain the old os files (snow leopard) and application but in the boot i've seen just Lion.

If you move your old hard drive to an external case, then you can use Disk Utility to format/erase it.

Thanks. Is not possible erase it without move it?
With disk utility or using some commands in the terminal?
