Voice mail will not set up
I contacted Verizon first. They did all they could to no avail. They told me I would have to get help from the Apple Store.

I doubt Apple would be able to help you. Voicemail is a carrier thing and Apple would have nothing to do with it.
1. Restart your iPhone
2. Make sure you have good cellular reception.
3. Make sure your voice mailbox is properly set up. You can verify this by dialing your phone number from your iPhone
4. Update to the latest iOS version
5. Reset your network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
6. If all else fails, contact Verizon again or try dropping by one of their authorized dealers.
Hope this helps, I know how frustrating this must be.
and there in lies my problem. I am being ping ponged between Apple and Version. Version reset my phone. I reset my phone. Version says it's an Apple thing and Apple says it's a Version thing...WTH 😟
I have had this problem with my carrier in the past. It is definitely not Apple's fault. There is nothing wrong with the iPhone (software/hardware) this is definitely a mistake by your carrier of the programming of your phone. I would say to take it to an authorized retailer, but this is something that customer phone support should easily be able to help you with. Ask to speak with a supervisor and let them know that it is a mistake in their voicemail provisioning.
Most definitely. There is an error somewhere in the configuration of the voicemail. All a representative has to is go into the profiles and adjust the voicemail settings and assign your phone number to a voice mail box. It's a very simple procedure. It's horrendous that they are claiming they cannot do a simple task.
omg, the lady from Verzion just told me to press *73, send, there will be a few fast beeps, and then hit end. She said that all calls were going to call forwarding. OMG...OMG...OMG...she fixed it. Too bad the lady in the dealers store spent all that time ( an hour ) and got nothing accomplished...and thank you for pointing me in the right direction. You know what you saying..thanks soooo much 🙂
You should probably start a new discussion - but to answer your question, resetting network settings will not delete anything from your device, other than any wifi passwords you have stored. You will have to re-enter them.
just got an iPhone 7 in December with Verizon. I had to call my number and set it up that way. When I was done there I went to check the voicemail option on the actual iPhone and everything was set up and good after that.
Bryannn, Thanks so much! We went through all your steps and the fix was completing your Step 5 (5. Reset your network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.). All old voicemail messages transferred over from iPhone 5S to the upgrade iPhone 7Plus and the voicemail outgoing message transferred over as well. Our carrier is AT&T, not Verizon. Glad we did not have to do another complete reset of all data backed up to iCloud as we read we would need to do in other online recommendations.
oh yeah, when I dial my own number, it asks for a mailbox number. I put in my cell number, but the recording said it was not valid
I spent over an hour at the Version Store, and they are authorized. I feel that you are correct. So you say I can call the Version and they may be able to help?
You are very welcome!
Thank you so much! I have had my iPhone for six months and have not been able to get vm to setup. Your directions immediately fixed my issue!
I am job seeking, so I NEEDED vm.
Again, thanks so much!!!
Thank you Thank you Thank you! Saved me a ton of time and effort. I may have done this to myself trying to set up google dialing. Seems there was something in there about forwarding calls.
Exscuase me but if I reset my network setting for at&t will any thing change
