Can I run RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 on my MacBook Pro?

Hi everyone!

RollerCoaster Tycoon was one of my favourite games when I was a PC user. Now I'm a Mac user I wanna play it on my MacBook Pro 13'' (early 2011).

After a little Google search I found out that Aspyr release a Intel version of RTC 3, and I was excited about it, but I noticed that on Aspyr page there's a note saying: "Intel integrated video chipsets are not supported" (here: http://www.aspyr.com/games/rollercoaster-tycoon-3-platinum). Does this means that I can't play RollerCoaster Tycoon on my MacBook Pro? If I search other sites, I see that people run RTC 3 on Intel HD 3000. I'm confused...

I really want to play this game my beloved Mac, but I'm not spending $49,99 for a game I can't even play! Please help me!

My MacBook Pro tech specs:

- Intel Core i7 2,7 GHz

- 4GB RAM

- Lion 10.7.4

- Intel HD Graphics 3000 384MB

Oh, and sorry for the bad english...

Mac OS X (10.7.4)

In all honesty, I think you should contact the developer of the game directly. Check the developer's webpage "Contact Us" section.

If you downgrade to Snow Leapard you can. It has X11 installed on it which allows you to run power PC applications. I only know this because I used to play that game until I upgraded to Lion 😟

The good news is your machine is powerful enouph to run a VM with windows installed on it. Then just buy the game for Windows and play it on the VM.

Parallels is another solution, I hear its very user friendly

or do boot camp. The VM is better though 🙂
