How to delete a podcast I listened to in the new apple podcast app

In the settings, make sure you check which podcast episodes to keep. You can set the app to only keep unplayed podcasts.

If you want to delete the entire podcast and its episodes, be sure you are in the library window. Then click edit to delete podcasts or rearrange them.

James - What are you talking about? If I "swipe" an episode, it starts playing - even if it is listed as already played. There doesn't appear to be any way to prune the list of episodes displayed in the podcast app. And when playing an episode, the screen that shows the list of episodes available shows no indication as to which episodes are already listened to. It's a complete mess...

Oh - wait a second. I see what you are talking about - swiping across an episode that is "downloaded" will delete it from the local cache. It won't remove it from the list of episodes. As I stated, swiping an episode that is not downloaded will cause it to start streaming.

No, but if you open the podcast to expose the list, the "gear" icon in the upper right corner will give you some sort and play order options. Won't remove episodes, but will make organizing a bit easier.

The typical way to delete items on the iPad is to tap and hold down on the icon until and the X pops up to delete it.

An "episode that is not downloaded" was not what the question was about. It's not even realistic to expect to "delete" something that is not actually on the iPad.

How do you delete multiple episodes from a podcast? Is there any way to select and delete more than one a time? The one by one, swipe and delete gets quite tedious if you have a lot to remove.
