iphone 4s overheating wont charge

I listen to pandora alot of my phone one day the battery died rapidly and my phone was really hot. i tried to charge it and it got so hot it burned my hand. so i shut the phone off for an hour tried charging it again and same thing happened. when im not using any apps its fine, as soon as i start using any app it will strt to over heat. now i cant even turn it on cause i dont have any battery left and it wont take a charge
