What web hosting site is iWeb friendly?
Many hosts will work for hosting iWeb websites. You will want to choose a "Linux" hosting plan. And look for a company with good customer service, I have been using IX Webhosting for several years now with little to no problems "usually the problem was something I did" and they have been quick to solve any issue I have come across.

There are no iWeb friendly webhosters.
There are only webhosters and they don't care which application you use to create webpages with.
And if they say they are iWeb friendly, it's salestalk to lure the gullible.
Thanks for the help all!

The MobileMe only features can be replaced by alternatives...

If you have folders of assets outside of the main website folder on MobileMe, download them from the Apple server. From the Finder Go menu, follow the path iDisk/My iDisk/ to get there. Your website files are in the Web/Sites folder. Drag any files/folders onto the desktop.
Use an FTP application to upload these assets to the root folder on your new server...

...and change the relevant URLs to...

There are lots of options for hosting for about half the cost of MobileMe...

If you have an existing domain name, you need to point it to your new account. Contact your domain name registrar about this. Your hosting company will supply you with the necessary info - mainly the nameservers. Note that its a lot more convenient to transfer your domain name registration to your hosting company.
If you have been using a web.me.com domain name, you need to register a new one. Most hosting services give you at least one free and registering with your hosting company will make forwarding and managing it a lot easier.
Make sure you add the new name to Google and create, upload and enter a new sitemap.xml...

I highly recommend web hosting from rage software;
http://www.ragesw.com/webhosting.php
They have a wealth of information and free videos for iWeb users plus you get their seo tool for iWeb software for free. They have been supporting iWeb for a very long time.
When you go with a web host that knows how to use iWeb support is much easier!
Hope this helps.
You should technically be able to use any web host. I use Little Oak (www.littleoak.net). I did my site over with RapidWeaver, and this is who they recommend. I like that they use and test their stuff on Macs to make sure everything is compatable.
The plans are over priced and under featured compared with most. I have never heard of charging extra for a dedicated IP address!
Really? All the host that I have been with have charged extra for a dedicated IP (Bluehost, Hostgator, GoDaddy). Or they package it with SSL, making it more expensive.
I get 15 IP addresses in one account for just over $100 with three free domain name registrations and unlimited storage from Host Excellence.
Most Linux based hosts will support uploading using iweb. I have been using couple hosts like hostgator.com and fastwebhost.com
I found out that its better to use their ftp program which you cna directly upload to their web folder. Some hosts have documentation for how to use iweb, I found this which helped me

With IX Webhosting even the inexpensive account ($3.95 mo USD) comes with 2 dedicated IP addresses.
IX Webhosting & Host Excellence are related companies.
Little Oak (http://www.littleoak.net ) just announced a discount for iWeb users. (http://www.thewhir.com/web-hosting-news/web-hosting-sales-and-promos-roundup-jun e-29-2012)
I use the Mac friendly web host DV Host (http://www.dvhost.com). They specifically support Apple iWeb, RapidWeaver and other Mac specific web design apps and provide support for them. When I initially set up my account, they even sent me screenshots showing exactly how to configure iWeb. Paying $3.99 per month for this which I think is good value.
