Jun 27, 2012 8:02 AM in response to albert28by planb77,Make sure your headphones are plugged ALL the way in, meaning the white part of the headset is flush with the body of the Shuffle. If you are 100% certain that they already all the way in, check the headphone jack for any signs of debris or damage that would be preventing a full connection.

Jul 1, 2012 9:32 PM in response to mcoolman1962by planb77,If the headphones are plugged all the way in and the jack is clear and clean of debris, then it's likely that the headphone jack is faulty or damaged and will need to be serviced/replaced. Before taking or sending it in for service, it might not to restore the Shuffle in iTunes to factory settings to rule any sort of software issue and try a different set of earbuds/headphones.
