Jun 27, 2012 3:00 PM in response to dbmac67by GranolaGirly,Let's face it Apple and Yahoo are not playing nice with each other. I called Apple they said it's not their issue and to call Yahoo. I call Yahoo and they said it's not them it's Apple and were quite rude about it. I don’t give a hoot whose issue it is just get it fixed. Yahoo had issues interfacing with Apple a few months ago and they fixed that issue. Yahoo needs to get it fixed. They are a free account and everyone pays for their phones. Who do you think will win in this situation?

Jun 27, 2012 3:49 PM in response to dbmac67by nanster23,This is crazy! I just got my iphone and it worked great with Yahoo for 3 weeks and now...nothing. I am having the same issues as everyone else. I am able to send emails to myself from my iphone, but I cannot retrieve any emails. I have tried everything that has been suggested, and still nothing. If anyone figures this out, please let the rest of us know. Thank you!

Jun 27, 2012 3:50 PM in response to nanster23by ED3K,Everyone is having issues with yahoo. There are a slew of posts with this. just use gmail. something that works.
-
Jun 27, 2012 5:21 PM in response to ED3Kby KiltedTim,Agreed. I dumped Yahoo years ago. The only reason I have an account at all is because I have AT&T U-Verse and DSL. The account never gets used, or even checked.

Jun 27, 2012 5:58 PM in response to KiltedTimby LauraMackie,I don't think it's just yahoo. I have gmail in my phone as well as yahoo and NEITHER were sending messages. Sounds like apple to me.

Jun 27, 2012 6:04 PM in response to LauraMackieby KiltedTim,Coincidence. Mail communicates directly with the server. Nothing goes through Apple's servers at all.
-
Jun 27, 2012 6:07 PM in response to KiltedTimby LauraMackie,I'm not convinced. It is consistently happening. But just a few minutes ago, I could send email from both accounts and it worked fine. What is the common denominator? Apple.
-
Jun 27, 2012 6:11 PM in response to LauraMackieby KiltedTim,No, the common denominator is your network. Either cellular data network or WiFi.
You can try re-booting the phone. If that doesn't work, Settings>General>Resets>Reset Network Settings.
If neither of those clear it up, then the problem is either with your Internet connection or the servers.
It is clear that yahoo is having massive problems right now. As for your gmail account, it could be any number of things, since you don't bother clarifying what you mean by it is not "sending messages". Heck, you may have a completely different problem altogether. Why don't you try describing what's actually wrong...

Jun 27, 2012 6:15 PM in response to KiltedTimby LauraMackie,When I click SEND on an email......like a lot of other people are having problems with....it goes into the outbox for a very long time. this is NOT normal. Many others are complaining of the same thing. It is not my network. Sorry.

Jun 27, 2012 6:38 PM in response to LauraMackieby Papciak84,It's not Apple's issue. Also, is there any chance that your Yahoo! password has any special characters in it? Like anything other than numbers and letters?
When you click "send" you have no control over your email being sent anymore. It's not anything on the iPhone or Apple. It's the ability, or lack thereof, to communicate with your mail provider's network.
-
Jun 27, 2012 6:50 PM in response to Papciak84by LauraMackie,Oh ok. Thanks for the explanation. I don't understand how these things work. What I don't understand is why yahoo hasnt fixed this mail problem. I've had pushing issues for a year now on and off, mostly off. I'm about to chane providers but it's such a daunting task!

Jun 27, 2012 6:59 PM in response to dbmac67by Sandra Rose,Same issue here - just got iPad last week and I thought maybe it was because of iCloud or because I was trying to put Exchange on my iPad but seems like I'm not alone with this issue so it must be Yahoo - plus Yahoo mail, even from my home PC & office Mac has been lousy for the last month or so.
