I have the same issue. I am using an ipod touch. I have several movies and TV shows I've purchased through itunes. Most of them I can watch with no problem, some of them are giving me the "you do not have permission to access this resource" message when I try to watch them.

I read a post that said they had likely not completely downloaded, so I tried to download them again. When I go to my purchases and select download for a particular show, it begins to play properly. I tried to delete the show so I could re-download, but when you left-swipe, nothing happens ... I don't get the delete option. I changed my sync options to remove these shows, but they won't remove.

Any suggestion other than the last resort of restoring my ipod back to the original factor settings?

That's stupid. We shouldn't need to be computer experts for you to solve a problem with one of your products. Apple is faulty software, always has been, and I say this as an apple fan. Cos now, the same is happening to me.

My computer is an HP Pavillion notebook, I have an IPad 2, and when I try to access my shared library (that is when it works) it is now saying the same error message - and I'm not posting another message - it is the same issue - just because it's on another device, or because we're trying to watch movies instead of you tube videos, desn't mean it's not the same issue. I have a feeling it's either one of two things - a home sharing issue (which I don't understand at all), or it's because I'm using a PC instead of a Mac.

I should also point that I also have an Airport extreme, an Apple Tv, an Ipod Nano, and the only problem I have now, is trying to get my Ipad to recognize that I have permission to play my shared library on my IPad 2. Sorry if I sound bitter, but this is kinda starting to tick me off.

Apple does not participate in these forums. As was said in the Terms of Use to which we all agreed, these forums are for user-to-user support. If you want assistance from Apple technicians, you will need to call Apple Support. Otherwise, start your own thread, providing full details about your setup and the exact problem, and someone can perhaps help you sort things out.

Regards.

Thanks for clarifying. No need for new thread as the problem I have is the same as stated here

I have a bunch of favorite you tube videos I watch. Now when I go click on one it comes up with that error message" you do not have permission to access this resource"

As stated above I'm using a new IPad with the most recent OS. There appear to be variouse threads with this issue related to You Tube and ITunes but little in the way of explanation, ideas or advice. (plenty of comments on forum rules and how to correctly list an issue though)

I started getting the same error on my AT&T iPhone 4S running on iOS 5.1.1 when trying to view my favorites videos on the youtube app. The fix was to kill the app and the background process by double tapping the home button, pressing and holding the youtube app until you see the red circle minus option, then tap on this option. Then I opened the youtube app again, and I was able to view my fovotires once again, hope this helps.
