Detecting spyware / keystroke on ipad
I have a concern that my roommate may have put keystroke / spyware on my iPad. Is there a way to determine this, shy of wiping out the whole system.
Thanks,

Since the only apps that can be installed on an iPad are those from the app store, it is not likely your roommate installed such spyware.
You can always do a soft reset, hold both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and the iPad restarts...see if that clears whatever problems you might be having.
Is your iPad jail broken?
If not, there is no spyware.
If so, it's entirely possible.
Why are you paranoid about your roommate?

I thought this was a technical forum and not a therapy session 😉 J/K.
iPad is not jailbroken so thanks, your reply really helps.
@Ralph Landry1 - what does the soft reboot do?
The soft reset often clears minor glitches in the operating system and stops apps that may be causing problems.
Let's say your room mate is a technical/computer genius.
He suffers an accident with a microwave and lava filled hotpocket, causing his rise as a super villain.
It's possible he got possession of your iPad, jailbroke it, installed spyware to further his goal of replacing you with a robotic replica as part of his world domination scheme.
If the above is not true, why bother with it?
Johnathan's question is actually quite serious, not therapy attempt, because the iOS devices are so thightly designed that it would be extremely difficult to install anything that would capture keystrokes, spy on you, etc. The operating system is just not accessible to all but the handful of developers who are writing code for the system. So, he was probing to see i there is a reason to suspect your roommate COULD gain that kind of access to your iPad.
Hope that explains a little of the question.
