Q: regarding error 1439.

I've gone thru all nine steps as suggested in article TS1372 on error 1439.  My Classic 160 will still not restore.  From other questions posted here it looks like this is a fairly common problems, but I'm not seeing any resolution that works....has anyone found a successful fix?

iPod classic, Windows Vista, 64 bit

    More info needed

    • Which version of iTunes are you using?
    • What is your iPod software version as shown on the iTunes Summary page?

Error 143x, normally caused by harddisk write timeout, probably due to

    1. iPod Hardisk failing - Do the iPod Disk Diagnostic refer to this earlier tt2 post
    2. Slow USB port, low datarate, due to sharing with other USB devices - Disconnect all other USB devices while Restoring or syncing. Dont use any USB hub and also use the USB port at the back of the PC. and not the front.
    3. CPU Resource drained by other Apps like email, Antivirus, web broswer - Stop them, but if stopping Antivirus please disconnect the PC from the Internet first.

    Have a nice day!

Thanks!  I found your recommendations on another post before you replied.  It was a HD failure and I've sent it in for repair.  Thanks!
