Protecting the screen when closed?

My original TiBook had an issue where the keyboard would leave marks on the screen when it was closed. To protect against this I kept a piece of fabric between the keyboard and screen. Originally it was this cool piece of leather, but I think that was what caused the problems with latch and hinges.

Does the MacBook need that protection? It came with a piece of think foam that I have been using since then, but I'm wondering if other people are doing that?

The MacBook has little spacers around the edges of the lid (two on the side about an inch from the top of the screen, and two next to the latch openings). These should prevent the screen from hitting the keyboard.

To be sure, I bought a Screensavrz cloth from RadTech. I had one for my Powerbook, and better safe than sorry. Plus, it's made out on lens cleaning cloth, so I can use it to clean off the screen when it gets smudged or dusty.

I was at an Apple Store and found a product called 'aiino' 'mac skin'.It comes in one small package as two items. One is a thin black felt like envelope which you can easily slip the MacBook Pro into when not in use. It prevents scratching of the outer case and protects it generally. The other bit in the package is also very useful. A seperate piece of thin black felt like material which I place over the keyboard before closing the screen lid of machine. Apparently this helps keep the screen free of grease, etc. which can build up from hands on keyboard.
