Thank you! I've had 3 different CCs on my apple account. I think after 4 iPhones being hooked to my account, I may know how to do it by now. Oh well.

You know, I spent a fairly good amount of time reading through all the responses yesterday for an answer to this question, and saw a lot of p*ssing back and forth by people about "Well, technically I'm right, and you didn't read the fine print," when a simple answer on how to do it in plain English would've done the job. It took me reading a couple of these arrogant responses to condense it down to a simple matter of:

    • Yes, it can be done, and it's quite easy.
    • You need another credit card or one of those pseudo-credit card gift cards to do it.
    • Enter the info for the new card, and a 48-hour window opens during which the NONE button is available.
    • Now that you have the NONE button, click on that, and you're all done.

How hard would it's have been to just say that?

But I don't have another credit card, I want the credit card OFF from it. You did not answer that.

OK, I have a gift card from a local mall that acts like a credit card, and that's what I used. I suppose you could get one of those and just put $10 on it.

Or...you could get an iTunes Gift Card, and that should serve the same purpose, allowing you to put NONE as a credit card option once you've opened up that 48-hour window again.

I did NOT add another credit card. I used what damnzig said and from my computer went to itunes and then to my account and followed her steps. None was an option and I clicked it without adding anything else. Just rechecked it to verify that my credit card infor is not longer their and it is not.

I believe it does matter as other people are wondering the same thing (that is how I came across the thread). Glad that you found a solution for you, but there are other options and it is helpful for people to know that they do not have to keep any cards on file. Not sure why you feel the need to be rude in a forum set up to help people.

Hi! There, actually there's a way to remove your credit card information to "None." But you've to do it with a computer. Go to computer iTunes and click on iTunes Store, then click on your account. Key in your Apple ID passwords then edit the billing information and you shall see the "None" option. This is a tricky part where you need to use computer's iTunes instead of your iDevices App Store. This worked for me, hope this help you too and have a nice day.

It is about time someone answers this question with a real answer ! You are the only shining star in this forum so far. One particular guy just keeps getting mad..but if it were that easy, we wouldn't still be asking ? Right ??

    Some people eh ?

    Thank SO MUCH !!

    Here's how :

    Using an iOS device :

    1. Go to settings

    2. Tap iTunes & App Stores

    3. Tap your Apple ID (if you're Already registered)

    4. Go to payment info

    5. Choose 'NONE'
