Hmm, you shouldn't need to purchase an iTunes voucher just to remove an existing payment method, or avoid having to add one. 😕

There are some hoops you can jump through as you create your iTunes account that workaround the need for a payment card or bank account, otherwise once the account is set up the iTunes Store may still expect you to provide one, which you can subsequently remove. If you don't have or want to use a credit/debit card at this time you can try this method using iTunes on a computer...

  1. Enable the menu bar if needed with Ctrl+B (only applies to some builds of iTunes 12 for Windows)
  2. Sign out of the iTunes Store from the Store/Account item on the menu bar
  3. Go to Music > iTunes Store home page
  4. Go to Quick Links > Redeem
  5. Sign in with your Apple ID
  6. Go through the screens, accepting the EULA, etc. You should arrive at a Review Payment screen where one of the options is None - select this and continue. You shouldn't actually need to redeem a new voucher/card.

It is worth noting that one of the functions of the registration is to prove you have a valid billing address in the region whose store you are trying to use. You might also have difficulty selecting None as an option if you have any active subscriptions (see View, change, or cancel your subscriptions - Apple Support), an outstanding debit balance to the iTunes Store, there are unreleased authorization holds on the card (see About payment card authorization holds in the iTunes Store - Apple Support) or you are trying to switch to one regional store while being in a different region.

You absolutely can take of CC information! I literally just did this because I let my boyfriend use my card for 2 minutes. You have to do it from your itunes on your COMPUTER.

To quote ItsPerryXD..

To remove your cc information from a account:
1. Go into itunes
2. click store

3. click view my account (also capable of signing out)

4. Input account data

5. Click edit next to credit card information

6. Select none and then done

Excuse me, don't be a rude little brat. I've been able to remove my CC info under any circumstances. No time limits or anything else. Don't use the forum to ask a question and then have an attitude when someone answers it. I can read very well, thank you very much. I skimmed through what I thought was important. Don't like it? Don't reply.

IF You signed up for Apple Music with family share and add a minor to your account you cannot delete credit card and the minor cannot be removed from your accoun until that minor transfers to another family group. I have contacted support and they have kindly intervened on my behalf. Be very careful if you use Apple family share. Read the agreement and realize it is very serious about this.

Wow then thats really a bad part on Apples side. Wow. Then I can not purchase anything anymore. Whenever I try to purchase something it says you need to check your billing information, because I deactivated my card it does not recognize it as a real card and it is stuck there. So If I redeem an app store gift card will i then be able to purchase things? Also how would you associate a new Apple ID with my iPod because that may be what I have to do if this does not work. Thanks

You can change your billing info to another card if you'd like. Otherwise, you can also redeem a gift card as you had asked.

Apple ID's aren't associated with iPods. If you want to set up an start using a new Apple ID on your iPod, you can head to Settings -> Store and tap Sign Out. Then sign in with your new account.

Keep in mind that all previous purchases made with the old ID are permanently attached to that ID. So if you have an app with an update that was purchased with the old ID, you'll need to use the old ID credentials to update it.
