why my Mac book air doesn't charge straight away

Hi there, Are any people know why is my Mac book air doesn't charge straight away? Thanks!

    Can you clarify that?


    I mean, I think it quite normal for the computer to take a second or two before charging begins. It could be the SMC making a determination whether charging is necessary, such that overcharging or "topping off" does not occur.


    You should also know that if your battery is already at 95% or higher when you connect the charging adapter, the battery will not charge further. The battery must dip below 95%, for it to begin. This is to prevent "topping off", to minimize cycling, which is detrimental to battery longevity.
