Q: I am trying to scan, but can't open pdf, "power pc 5.0 not supported". I have a MacBook Pro 10.7.4 Lion?

I am scanning documents via Canon MX870. I can see documents in finder but can' open. Note is "Power pc 5.0 not supported". I down loaded latest Adobe to Mac but stillcant open. Not sure what to do next.

    Are you using MP Navigator to scan the document and save it as a PDF? If yes, maybe there is something wrong with the application.

     

    A test you can try is to scan your document with Image Capture and save the file as PDF. With the file scanned, see if you get the same error message when you try to open the PDF. It should open with the Preview application unless Acrobat has been set as the default. In this case, control-click the file and select to open it with Preview.
