Time Capsule via ethernet to thunderbolt-adapter is slow

User uploaded file

It says it's going to take 7 days to move my 153GB aperture-library to my new MBA 2012. I simply copied the library-file from the Time Capsule backup to my MBA.

I've connected my my TC to my MBA via a ethernet-cable and my thunderbolt to ethernet-adapter. It should be a lot faster than WIFI, but it isn't.

What can I do to speed it up?

Time Capsule 802.11n (4th Gen), Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Hmm,

this was too quick. It works sometimes, and sometimes not. At the moment I'm running a backup that started out with 2KBytes per second. After reconnecting the TB->Eth Interface (in software, not pulling it out), speed went up to 50MBytes per second until 890Mb were backed up, now it's down to 2KB per second again. Sometimes this goes on for like 40MB, sometimes it backs up 2GByte, but always it's going down again. In parallel I can write files with 100MBytes per second to the same device via Finder.

Odd...
