My ipod 4 has been over heating on recharge. Today it died. Funeral services to be held on further notice. Is there any way to fix this or am I spending yet more money to replace this after only 1 year. Generaly these are an excellent product but...this one not so much. If the over heating issue could be fixed then this again would be an excellent product.

What were the symptoms of the heating issue?
I would plug in to charge (wall outlet) and it would simply get heated. Just before it died it was almost too hot to touch. While charging it would be sitting on table so unsure as to why it would get so heated. This would happen within 10 mins.
That would indicate either battery wend bad or its charging circuits. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
LOL that would be great but don't think there is one in my area. Will 'Google' it. 🙂
Looked it up and the closest one to me is in Toronto but (as I have never been there) I would get lost trying to find it. LOL I wish they had an on line version.
