I would like to know how to connect my MBP 17'' to my Panasonic plasma TV. I already have a Mini-Display cord to HDMI connected from my MBP to the TV, but no video or sound is present. Any help would be appreciated - thank you very much.

Did you switch the TV input to use the HDMI port?
Yes, I have it on the HDMI 3 port, where I had my Apple TV plugged in - still no picture/audio. Thank you for replying.
What about display settings in Display preferences? You might try Mirrored setting to start. Be sure to set a compatible screen resolution for the TV.
I have looked in System Preferences under Displays and there is no "Mirrored Settings" to be found.
Do you see two screens in Displays? If not then it's not detecting the TV set as a display.
Yes, I have. I have also pressed "detect displays" several times to no effect. I have now connected the MBP to a LCD TV, with still no audio/video. Why are the TV's not detecting the MBP?
I don't know. I have used my MBPs with two different TVs and an external monitor without any difficulty. TVs were used with HDMI cables and adaptors for the Mini-DisplayPorts on the MBPs.
Perhaps you need to look in the manual for the TV to see what it suggests.
