how do I delete podcasts from my ipod?

You must do it by either manually removing them from the iPod via the iTunes interface if you manually manage the iPod's contents, or by configuring them to no longer sync to your device via the iPod's Podcasts configuration tab in iTunes.

I just delete them straight from my iTunes, and then update my iPod.
