how do I get my photos copied from my PC onto my new ipad into i cloud?

I have my first Apple product ~ an i pad (3rd generation) wi fi .

I want to copy my potos on my old HP PC lap top into i could.

the sales guy sold me a usb photo adapter and 18 gb usb stick.

when I coppied a small folder of 10 photos onto the stick, and inserted it into the i pad I got a message saying the USB device requires too much power...? what can I do to get my photos into my i could acct.? HELP!!!!

Not all USB thumb drives take too much power. Take the one you bought back to the store, & take your iPad & camera connection kit. Get a different brand that doesn't take too much power.


You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.


Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).


Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)
