Cannot send mail

My Mac Book Mail app receives mail but will not send it. There's a little icon next to the "Send" in that menu that justs continually turns. I've looked at the Connection Doctor and it says I'm connected. I've tried:


1. Connection Doctor which says all accounts are connected and working.

2. Closing the app and restarting it.

3. Restarting the computer.


This has been going on for 2 days now. What can i do to fix the problem?

MacBook Pro, iOS 5.1.1
