I've tried all these steps but my Ipod classic is still frozen, and when I switch it to hold or try to charge it, it does not recognize or react to either action. Help?

I turned on my Ipod, but realized it was still on hold, so I switchd off the hold. Now everything is frozen: I tried pluging it into the usb of my charging mac, and it is unresponsive both on the mac and my Ipod. Usually iTunes will pop up whenmy iPod plugs in, but not this time. The iPod screen is frozen on a song that is ot playing nor am I able to change the song. Is there a way to reset my iPod?
