Turning Voice Memo's into Podcasts

We're trying to do our first podcast for our business and are stuck. We recorded a voice memo on our iphone 4s that's over an hour long. It's too big to email, so I'm trying to move it onto our Windows computer using iTunes. The problem is that it won't transfer over when I sync even though I have the check box on on the Music tab to include Voice Memo's. My understanding is that a playlist should be created called Voice Memo that contains recording. This is not happening. My questions are:

1. Does anyone know how to fix this?

2. Is there a better way to transfer the voice memo if ultimately I'm going to turn it into a podcast?

3. Any recommended software for cleaning up the voice memo and turning it into a podcast?

Thanks.

You really want to get the voice recording converted to MP3 format first and then uploaded to a podcast host.

There are only two apps in the iTunes App store that support recording on your iOS device and exporting as an MP3 file.

BossJock - http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bossjock-studio/id531205021?mt=8

iAudition - http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iaudition/id398904493?mt=8

I recomment BossJock of the two.

What both will let you do is record on your iOS device and then via FTP send the recording out as an MP3 formated file. Which you can then send to your podcast host if they support FTP.

www.libsyn.com - supports FTP uploads and both apps work well with Libsyn.

(In full disclosure I work for Libsyn)

Bossjock was just launched and the devs are adding more features to it.

But if you are looking for a good solid podcasting solution using your iOS device then the combo of

Bossjock and Libsyn.com is the best combo.
