move to iCloud.... OS upgrade

I am trying to help my rural neighbor move to iCloud. She is running 10.6 on her tower.

Terrrible internet out here very slow. I question purchasing OS 10.7 when the new OS releases in less than three weeks.

I went into town and tried to down load the Lion upgrade to a thumbdrive for her but as I had already purchased it for myself the

App store just said "downloaded" and would not let me purchase another copy.

Any ideas ?

If she is not sharing any devices, or does not have a .,mac or .me account, then is there any reason to move to iCloud right now ?
