I have just installed the new 2 TB Time Capsule to replace my 500 GB Time Capsule. Although the Airport Utility software 5.6 software supports MAC address user access control, it appears the 2 TB Time Capsule does not. Am I missing something? I will return this product to Apple if it does not support MAC address security.

Time Capsule 802.11n (4th Gen), Mac OS X (10.7.4)

It was probably removed because MAC filtering as a security method is totally and utterly useless.. if a person can hack through wpa2 AES (personal in Applespeak) MAC filter adds zero security.

Did you hold down the option key when selecting a function.. ? Apple often hide stuff they know is useless so end users will not be tempted to use it.. MAC filtering alone is so easy to crack and spoof that you can expect kiddy inflitration in seconds if you have someone so inclined in your area. WPA2 with a decent passkey is effectively unhackable until quantum computers arrive.

Open AirPort Utility 5.6, select the Time Caspule and click Manual Setup

Click the Access Control tab

Then select Timed Access next to MAC Access Control

Click the + button to begin the process

Like a "closed" or "hidden" wireless network, Access Control has not been an effective security measure for some years. But, if it makes you feel better, it might be worth using.
