i dont get airplay option on my iphone 4

I had the same issue.

You have to double tap the home button. Then swipe to the right at the bottom, twice. The first time it shows the music controls, the second time it brings the Air Play.

I had the same problem and realized that I'd turned off my wifi settings because I had been traveling. I turned it back on, and it's working again.

If you are connected to your WiFi. Open Music and AirPlay is located in there. I hope this helps.

You have to be signed on to your network via wifi on your iphone then you will see the apple tv button

I don't know if you were ever able to fix the issue but I found if you locked your phone and double click on the home button that the volume controls come up and right next to them is the Airplay button. Hope you didn't trash your Apple devices. Good luck.

I had exaxtly the same issue. Found out that it was due to the fact the phone couldn't locate my airplay unit(apple tv). So the this extra botton will only appear if the phone can detect an airplay unit on your wifi.

Either you haven't enabled airplay on the apple tv(In the menu under settings) or you are facing router issue(port stuff).

I Have a 4s. When you double click and swipe right, you see the iTunes controls. Swipe right again and Apple TV icon is there.

I was having the same issue and I found that my apple tv often turns airplay off on it's own. Verfiy Airplay is on on the ATV....

I was getting absolutely no Airplay button anywhere--no App nor next to the volume slide. Restarted AppleTV & iphone 4 several times, but didn't help. For me what worked was unplugging and restarting router (Linksys). Now getting airplay button in all relevants Apps.

Have been very frustrated with Apple TV and my 4s. Very sporadic when Airplay button would appear. Unplugging the router and waiting a few minutes did the trick.

Update to my earlier post. I continue to have to unplug my router for a 10 count in order to get my ATV and 4S to see each other...every time I want to use ATV. It's a pain....but it works every time. Apple - forget a dividend.... use some of that cash to solve this problem!

Did you try performing a reset on your 4s (Holding the power button and the home button at the same time untill the apple logo comes up ) ?

did a quick test on your proposed solution and it WORKED! It worked on both ATVs in the house. Will check it out in further detail later - but very helpful so far.

This trick tends to fix many issues you may have with your iPhone/device. It's what I believe is called a soft reset.
