i have the same problem with magged77
As I can't find the user "magged77" to which you refer, can you provide a link or, better yet, simply restate your specific symptoms?
I found this in another thread. Turn off the html5 trial in youtube.
I think I've got the solution, go to youtube.com/html5 and then in the bottom of the page you have an option to disable the html test, that worked for me
This is the link
Thank you very much!

Hi all,
disabling the HTML5 test mode did NOT work for me. My problems with Youtube in Safari 5.1.7 are the same with or without this test mode.
Problems:
1) Most of the times, videos just stop suddenly and Youtube's loading wheel keeps turning indefinitely.
2) Youtube control buttons do not work at all. It is as if play, pause, and scrolling were entirely disabled.

Hi everyone,
another finding: one of the problems that I experienced with Safari (see above) appeared today as well on Firefox: videos just stop playing suddenly and the loading wheel keeps spinning without end.
That is, my worry now is, not only that Safari has some incompatibility with youtube (possibly with other Google sites?), but more generally, that Apple's hardware or Mac's OS may have it.
Anyone wih the same problem?
BTW, does Apple ever use these forums to inform themselves about issues with their sof- and hardware?
Hi, I have the same problem… and in my youtube video, there is no sound !
But with your help now everything work fine ! (Youtube is now in Flash and not HTML5 and it's ok like that)
I have Safari 5.1.7 on iMac with Lion 10.7.5
Thanks ! (because I thing Apple don't care about us !)
