HELP!!! 4th gen Ipod Nano Stuck on language screen...

My ipod was stuck on the menu screen and wouldnt let me select anything. I tried reseting it via menu and select key but that didnt work. I have tried restoring through iTunes and it wont let me i keep getting an error so looking at other forums i decided to try formatting it and then restoring it. I believe it restored because it is back to the language screen but now it is stuck there.... any ideas on how to get past that...? or how to completely restore it through a different method??

iTunes error reads... "The iPod "(name)" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1413)."

it was originally stuck on the menu screen and would let me reset it but wouldnt let me select play or scroll. after i formatted it and tried restoring it i was brought to the "please select a language" screen and that wont let me select or scroll but the buttons still let me reset it and get the apple icon but brings me right to the language screen.

Take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.
