Lexmark won't print SOLVED (X4650)

Hello, I used to have a problem that I couldn't print from my mac over WIRELESS. The windows computers could print normally. This thread is made to tell someone how to fix it if you have the same problem.

One of the few problems I've had was that it couldn't automatically find the printer. So I added it manually. If I did this, it'd say the printer is in use.

I figured out that by selecting a different protocol, the printer could print.

Here's how I did it:

1.First install the latest lexmark drivers from the lexmark website from your printer

2. Remove the printer from the printers ( Which you can find under settings -> printers )

3. Add a printer. Click on the tab IP.

4. Under IP, select the third protocol. "HP..." and some other words behind it.

5. Enter the IP of your lexmark printer.

6. Manually select the lexmark driver from the big dropdown list. Select your lexmark driver.

7. Add the printer.

Succes! If you had the same problem as me and no other problems, this will probably work for you.

The most important process is adding the printer manually.

Your instructions were great and completely solved the problems of wirelessly printing from my mac.

However I still can't scan!

I have downloaded the latest drivers from lexmark and installed their scan centre. But it just doesn't see or recognise the scanner (even thought the printer is recognised) and when I try to add it as a device using the ICP address it still doesn't recognise it.

Any suggestions?
