lost DVD - how to reinstall

I want to re-install snow leopard but I lost the DVD. Is there a way to download this or can I just buy lion and re-install using that?

You can purchase Lion but you should have the disks that shipped with your Mac, if that is the DVD you're talking about.
Contact Apple, give them your serial number and for a nominal fee they'll send you the DVD.
