How do I access my account under the icloud service if is not showing under my system preferences on my MacBook?

Suggest you might re-download the OS X Lion Update 10.7.4 (Client Combo) updater and reinstall it. See if this fixes things. The iCloud preference pane should have been installed when updating to 10.7.2 and later.
