New 3rd gen Apple TV freezes on startup

Just brought home a new 3rd generation Apple TV and it locks on black screen with Apple logo.

Attached to Olivia 32" TV with a HDMI to DVI cable.

I see output in the form of the startup screen, so there is a connection.

Any body have any ideas?

AppleTV 2, iOS 5.1
