Asterisk

In the listing of songs in one's iTunes Library, what does the encircled "asterisk symbol" (next to the check-mark) represent?

I think that it is some kind of an "Alert" symbol, but how does one rectify it?

Sid,

If you look closely, does it look like it an exclamation point in the circle, and not an asterisk?

That exclamation point is an indication that iTunes does not know where the song file is located, and therefore will not be able to play the song.

That normally occurs if the song file, or one of its containing folders, has been moved, deleted, or renamed. If you remember changing anything, put it back the way it was. If not, use Windows to search for the file (and don't forget the Recycle bin) and when you find it put it back into the library.
