"MobileMe has been discontinued" - cannot close dialog

Move to iCloud or delete your MobileMe account of your system. It has been closed today and you can only move to iCloud

Is the command File/Web Accounts not working?

I think you can get out of this by purging the com.apple.aperture.plist file in Home/Library/Preferences, if not. When I made the change to iCloud, I edited my web accounts in Aperture to remove reference to MobileMe, but that command may not work now.

You may also want to go into System Preferences and sign-out of MobileMe if you have not already.

I have the same problem, but I can't find that plist (it doesn't seem to exist in my home/library/prefences folder). I logged out of MobileMe but that didn't help, either. I only used mobileme for a one-month trial two years ago and haven't touched it since. I tried to log back into mobileme...which took me to the mobileme website, but I couldn't log in there to try to migrate my account (which doesn't have anything anyway).

Any other thoughts on what I can try?

Mende1 mentioned deleting the mobileme account, but I'm not exactly sure what that means or what is involved with "deleting" it.

The .plist file should be there (I just solved the issue, thanks Ernie for the suggestion!). Are you sure you are checking out in the right directory? YourUser->Library->Preferences, and not YourDisk->Library->Preferences.

I had the same problem and the .plist delete fixed it for me (I also signed out of MobileMe in System Preferences before deleting the file).

BTW - for those of you who arrive here and do not know how to find the (normally hidden) Library folder, hold down the Option key while in the Finder menu bar you click on Go -- Library will appear in the dropdown.

Clicking 'Learn More' will dismiss the window and unless you quit the app or click on the MobileMe account in the side bar that message won't appear again.

Clicking 'Learn More' didn't work for me -- the app was completely frozen and would not respond to any inputs, neither in the dialogue box nor in the menu bar.

The solution:

1) Disconnect from internet (WiFi, Ethernet, etc.)

2) Open Aperture.

3) Open Aperture Preferences.

4) Click on Web, delete MobileMe.

5) Turn on internet.

Crazy that Apple doesn't tell folks this.

I found the problem to be similar when launching iPhoto. Only needed to click the Learn More, and then use iPhoto/Preferences/Web to remove all references to MobileMe. Did not find any need to disconnect from the internet.

Since I had thought to do that last week in Aperture, I only found the issue because some people were talking about it with iPhoto as well.

I turned off wifi, opened aperture, deleted my mobileme account from the preferences menu. This simple solution worked for me. Thank you Jas!
