Time Machine "could not Unmount Disk"

I have a Buffalo Ministation 1T (as my portable hardrive), been using it for about 3 months and works perfect, nothing wrong with it at all and time machine formatted it straight away. I recently got the Samsung G3 Station 2T (as a back up to the buffalo) and Time machine says "There was an error erasing the Time Machine backup disk “SAMSUNG”. Could Not Unmount Disk". Then in disk utility when i click erase from (MS - DOS (FAT) To (Mac OS Extended (Journaled)) it says "Volume Erase failed with the error: Could Not Unmount Disk".

Any help here? i can drag files accross to it, which i do for my most important files, as well as time machine, but nothing seems to work to get timemachine going.

Any help? Also im not a wizard with computers so the more detail the better thanks.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
