How do I copy and paste a resume from my downloads into/onto a job application on a potential employer's website?

Not knowing the format/design of the employer's website, it's difficult to know.
Why not send your resume via regular mail or email. Just fill out the application the way the employer wants you to.

Is the application a simple web page or a pdf that can be written to.
Does the job application have a text field or text box where the want the resume to go?
