why does the game lag in the beginning when connecting to gamecenter?

whenever i open a game such as temple run, or subway surfers the first 10 seconds lag a lot causing the screen to become unresponsive then after 10 sec gamecenter connects and its fine. it is very annoying and causes the game to crash sometimes.
