Disk utility won't delete partition.

I installed Ubuntu on my Macbook but it didn't really work for me so I deleted it. I used Disk Utility to delete the Ubuntu partition, but when I want to delete a Linux-swap partition I made while installing Ubuntu nothing happens. I press the minus button and it will delete it. But after deleting it just stays there, and I can't change the partition in any way. How can I delete the partition?

I looked online for hours, so hopefully this will spread the word of how to find the linux partitions that won't be deleted!!!

This worked for me!!!

Simply click the + to create another partition, then Command+click both the new partition you just made, (called something like macintosh 2) and the linux partition, and click the - button. They will both be deleted and your mac will then be able to be resized to gain back it's full, single partition! 😀
