Q: MBP will not display on TV

My Macbook Pro will not display on my 32 inch Samsung HDtv. I have tried everything in the Help menu in Displays in System Settings.

I restarted, changed sequence of starting tv and mac, tried every resolution, gathered windows, detected displays, and everything but my Mac still does not display. Both Mac and tv "see" each other but tv displays message "no signal". Using a mini to HDMI adaptor and a HDMI to HDMI cable, both new.

Thanks. This confirms that i have the correct adaptor. Could it be the HDMI cable? I have a high speed HDMI cable that supports 3D but it seems that it supports the resolution/ mac and tv I have. Does the brand of the cable matter? What is f3? thanks!

Yes the cable does make a difference! Do some research on line, as all cables are NOT created equal.

f3 is a message that displays when there is only 1 screen on the desktop. (not important)
